Daily Trivia : Weird Tech back in 2013, Scanner Mouse

10 years ago, thanks to the booming of smart phone like iphone, we start to see cheap CMOS camera appear everywhere to replace some of old tech, one of the weird thing is this, the scanner mouse.

Basically, it is a webcam mounted under the mouse with the mirror and iR light, using the 2 mouse optical sensor as X Y input and software to stitch the image together while you scroll through the paper.

Thanks to the advanced of camera sensor and AI algorithms, we can just use our phone now for a perfect straight document scanning.

I surprise to see a 10 years old tech still on sale in the market nowaday and cost 200-300 MYR, what a bizzare thing.
