Today, Apple released an open dataset called Pico-Banana-400k — the world’s largest AI dataset for text-prompt-guided real-world image editing.

Covering 35 categories of edit directions (like object manipulation, photo style changes, and more), the dataset includes both original and edited images, along with SFT data and full multi-turn editing sequences. It even comes with Gemini Nano Banana and Qwen 2.5–32B prompt instructions!

So, what can you do with it? With Pico-Banana-400k, you can now fine-tune your own image-editing agent that understands natural language commands remarkably well.

This is a true game changer, following Tencent’s Seed-Data-Edit image dataset released in May 2024 (which was primarily used to train their Seed-X model).
