Jin Daily Food Trivia: What Are Arepas—and Why Are Chinese and Russians Looking for Them?
Arepas — is not the Mexican tortilla you see in most tacos.
Arepa is a thick, small, round corn cake. Mexican tacos use a thin, flat tortilla instead.
Arepas are made by kneading dried corn flour with water and salt into a dough, then pan-frying, baking, or deep-frying the patties.
Once cooked, they’re sliced open and stuffed with fillings like meat, eggs, avocado, tomato, and all kinds of goodness.
Really look like our chinese Bao :D
