Did you know that the new iPhone 16e is missing quite a few features? No MagSafe magnets, no UWB chip, still stuck with Wi-Fi 6 (not even 6E), no Thread radio for future smart home integration, and—most importantly—no USB-C display output.

And here’s the kicker: The iPhone 16e uses the same A18 chip as the regular iPhone 16, which does support all these features. Apple just disabled them in software.

Fun fact: Since the iPhone 16e doesn’t have MagSafe, Apple stores can’t display it as elegantly as the iPhone 16 and 16 Pro, which “float” in mid-air thanks to MagSafe stands. So, what did Apple do? They made a brand-new stand—one with a dent and built-in MagSafe just for wireless charging.

Cost-cutting never looked so… innovative. 😆
