Jin’s Daily Apple Trivia: Don’t install iOS 26 Beta 1 on your iPhone 15 series!
Some users have reported that after updating to iOS 26, their iPhone 15 devices ended up with a black screen and couldn’t be charged.
The iPhone 15 Pro models are especially prone to this bug. For those who installed the first iOS 26 beta, the issue can be quite serious. If your battery still has some charge, you might be able to roll back the update. But if it’s already drained, the phone won’t charge or turn on at all. The only known fix right now is to open the device and manually disconnect and reconnect the battery.
The root of the problem seems to be iOS 26 failing to recognize the Power IC during reboot. As a result, the system thinks the battery is dead and refuses to boot. Since the Power IC isn’t properly loaded, the phone also won’t charge while idle.
Reminder: Beta versions are risky. If you’re on a beta, you’ll need to update to the official release before you can get Apple support.
