Jin Daily AI Trivia – Google’s SOTA Image Edit: Gemini-2.5-Flash-Image (🍌) is HERE

Remember all those AI-generated toy figurines people have been posting on LMArena recently? Turns out, that site is mainly use by AI companys as a secret testing ground for their new AI model. The mysterious Nano-Banana Imagen model has now been confirmed as Google’s latest release: Gemini-2.5-Flash-Preview.

This new model lets you:

• Blend multiple images into one.
• Keep character consistency for richer storytelling.
• Make precise edits with natural language prompts.
• Leverage Gemini’s world knowledge for image generation and editing.

You can already try it out in AI Studio, where Google has even set up template apps for easy experimentation. It’ll be rolling out to the Gemini mobile app soon, and the Gemini web app will follow after. (Link in the comment)

PS: Qwen-Image-Edit (the open-source Chinese image editing model) is already nearly as good as Google’s closed-source version. China’s AI models are catching up fast! 😄
