Jin Daily Apple Trivia: Did you know that the cheaper M5 iPad Pro only have 12GB of memory?
Apple recently launched its new M5 series across the 14” MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, and Vision Pro.
In essence, the M5 is a fully unlocked version of the A19 Pro — offering nearly double the CPU and GPU cores, plus double the memory bandwidth compared to the A19 Pro. It’s also a big leap from last year’s M4 (153GB/s vs 120GB/s).
But there’s a small catch for iPad buyers: Apple actually binned the M5 chip for the lower storage variants.
The 256GB and 512GB models only get 9 CPU cores and 12GB RAM.
The 1TB and 2TB models get the full 10 CPU cores and 16GB RAM.
