If you’ve been experimenting with Google’s open-source Gemma 3 and Gemma 3n models inside AI Studio — you might’ve noticed they suddenly disappeared.

Google quietly removed all Gemma models from the public AI Studio after the model generated false and defamatory claims about U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn.

Hugging Face
Vertex AI on Google Cloud

In essence, Google did not entirely “kill” Gemma, but restricted its public access in AI Studio to ensure it is used as intended by its target developer audience.
