Jin Daily Tech Trivia – Gmail Quietly Kills POP3 Mail Fetch

Google has officially discontinued Gmail’s “Check mail from other accounts” feature that used the POP3 protocol. This effectively kills Gmail’s ability to pull external email into your inbox via POP3.

If you were relying on POP3 fetch, your options are now limited to setting up forwarding at the provider level or rebuilding everything around IMAP or mobile clients.
